Bertrand Ruat
Sales Broker

Bertrand Ruat took his first tentative steps aboard a sailing boat at just 11 months old. From that point on, his life has been intertwined with the sea. During his childhood, Bertrand sailed with his family in the Mediterranean and participated in many renowned regattas.

Bertrand studied Economic Sciences at University and at the age of 21, began a career on the water as a powerboat skipper in St. Tropez, and quickly earned his Merchant Marine Captain 200 Tons license. Bertrand soon found himself captaining yachts in the Mediterranean and serving as Mate or Bosun on larger vessels in the Caribbean during winters – some of them up to 200-feet long.

Bertrand obtained his commercially endorsed 3000-tons MCA License unlimited, and worked primarily with Italian high-performance yachts. He delved into the engineering aspects of yachting and participated in numerous constructions. For 15 years, he dedicated himself to various projects for a highly esteemed family, traveling extensively across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans.

Bertrand established himself in the US in 2016 and continued to work with different owning families, operating semi-displacement and full-displacement yachts in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and east coast of the US.

Throughout his journey, integrity, sound judgment, and a profound affinity for the sea have been Bertrand’s guiding principles. With a steadfast commitment to discipline, Bertrand gained wider insight to yacht management, compliance, crew management, shipyard projects, and operational costs.

Joining Moravia Yachting as a Sales Broker was a natural fit for Bertrand. The company’s operational ethos aligns perfectly his own values, with client respect and trust taking precedence.
