A Monaco Yacht Show first: The Monaco-Moravia hot air balloon

Taking yachting to new heights
The skies above Port Hercule took on a new crimson hue this Wednesday as Moravia Yachting launched a new partnership with the Club des Aéronautes de Monaco via the unveiling of a redesigned, cobranded ‘Monaco-Moravia’ hot-air balloon.
The first public flight took place at sunrise on Wednesday 23 September at the Terraces du Soleil by the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo, drawing attention from the media and providing a perfect perspective from Monaco Yacht Show taking place below. Founding Partner and CEO Niall Robinson was among the first on board.
“I have always wanted to experience hot air ballooning—its silence, its grace and its dependence on the wind echo my own passion for classic yachts, which I consider true works of art,” says Niall. “I believe it’ll resonate with clients who value this ‘minimum waste, maximum joy’ approach to life.”
The Club’s founder and president, Alain Cruteanschii, was also on hand to announce the appointment of H.S.H. Prince Albert II as Honorary President, directly linking the national hot air balloon to the highest symbols of the Principality.
“It is an honour to support such a remarkable project under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II,” said Niall. “This initiative perfectly embodies our values, combining elegance with environmental responsibility. We look forward to accompanying it around the world and witnessing the enthusiasm it will inspire.”
Alain shared the sentiment, adding “thanks to this new partnership, we will have the means to proudly fly the colours of the Principality around the world. With the Moravia Yachting team, we are united by kindness, efficiency, respect, and a love of work well done.”
The Monaco-Moravia balloon will participate in numerous operations both in the Principality and abroad.
“We are very proud to see Moravia’s image associated with Monaco’s hot air balloon,” said Niall. “The ambition is also to leverage our network to allow Alain to fly to new countries—Saudi Arabia, I hope. Wherever it goes, this unique balloon will carry a positive impact, both for Monaco and for Moravia Yachting, as one of its ambassadors.”
