Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2023 roundup

By Moravia Yachting

Held October 25 to 29, this year’s FLIBS was a resounding success for Moravia Yachting.

It wasn’t just the good weather that made an appearance at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) 2023; many of Moravia Yachting’s clients attended the show to view yachts on the charter and sales markets. Following a successful show, Alastair Callender, who runs Moravia Yachting in the Americas region, reports healthy levels of interest from the American market.

“The overall sentiment along the docks was that of cautious optimism for the year ahead.”

“This was the 15th FLIBS I’ve attended and arguably generated more traction than any other year,” comments Alastair. “I was able to host clients interested in the largest yachts in show for sale, as well as one client looking for inspiration for a new build project. The overall sentiment along the docks was that of cautious optimism for the year ahead.”

Alastair observed even higher demand from a charter perspective, with many clients interested in viewing the charter yachts in show and confidently booking 8-12 months in advance. Represented by Hill Robinson (the parent company of Moravia Yachting), the 65m (213′4″) ETERNITY was the premier charter yacht on display and, as a result, attracted a lot of attention.

An exclusive cocktail party was hosted on board ETERNITY for Moravia Yachting clients, as well as Bahamian-themed event for the yacht charter industry. “Both events showcased how exceptional the crew are for a potential charter vacation,” adds Alastair. “ETERNITY is now looking forward to a busy season ahead in the Bahamas.”

Listed for sale by Alastair, the 70ft (21.42m) Pershing UNREEL was recently added to the global Moravia Yachting sales fleet in October 2023. UNREEL was also available to view within close proximity to the show, lying in Miami Beach, where Alastair promoted her to clients interested in that segment of the market. “UNREEL is a fabulous 2023 Pershing 7X model in as-new condition and with low engine hours,” he explains. “She is in turn-key condition and offers are encouraged.” Importantly, being US duty paid, she is immediately available for purchase by US Residents.

“With record levels of yacht sales over the last two years resulting in a shortage of quality inventory, yachts in good condition and handcrafted from quality builders, such as UNREEL, are seeing a lot of purchase interest,” Alastair concludes.
