Set-jetting by superyacht: Where to go in 2026

By Chloé Braithwaite

From iconic films to cult series, your next charter can take you to the world of the silver screen, all from the deck of your superyacht.

Set-jetting is by no means a fleeting trend. Film-inspired travel has been captivating audiences for decades. Audrey Hepburn famously inspired her fans to follow Breakfast At Tiffany’s through the streets of New York, while James Bond enthusiasts have long traced 007’s footsteps from Monte Carlo to the Seychelles.

Today, the phenomenon has taken on a distinctly modern twist, evolving beyond pretty postcards and guided tours. The White Lotus effect—where fans flock to luxury resorts and destinations seen on screen—shows just how powerful cinematic influence can be. Travel research suggests 81% of Millennials and Gen Z travellers now plan holidays based on destinations they’ve seen on screen, making set-jetting one of the fastest-growing trends shaping 2026 itineraries.

But for the modern charterer, it’s sometimes even about chartering the set itself.

Here’s where we’re going in 2026.

Europe

If you like Emily In Paris, you’ll love the South of France

Retrace Emily’s footsteps along the French Riviera with a classic South of France itinerary aboard the HATT MILL—the very same yacht Gabriel was employed on. Wile away a sunlit morning at Paloma Beach, where Emily and her friends soak up the Mediterranean view, then enjoy lunch at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, whose terrace pool and sweeping sea vistas feature in her chic seaside escape. Head to Villefranche-sur-Mer, the charming harbour town that doubled for Saint-Tropez, where Emily strolls through the old town and pops into cafés. Don’t miss the tiny, whimsical Chapelle Saint-Pierre, tucked just off the main village street, with walls adorned by murals from Jean Cocteau.

If you like Game of Thrones, you’ll love Dubrovnik, Croatia

Step into King’s Landing along the cobbled streets of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, where Cersei Lannister’s unforgettable walk of atonement down Stradun was filmed. Wander the fortified city walls for sweeping views of the Adriatic and terracotta rooftops, then slip into hidden squares like Gundulić Square to sip coffee as the sun warms the ancient stones. Take a tender to Lokrum Island, a short hop from the harbour, with lush gardens and quiet beaches.

If you like White Lotus, you’ll love Sicily, Italy

Season two may have ended on a grizzly note, but that shouldn’t detract from Sicily’s charm—though the island’s rich, turbulent history makes for the perfect backdrop. Start in Taormina with a stroll down Corso Umberto, just like Lucia and Mia. Bam Bar, where Valentina grabs her morning coffee, is famous for the traditional Sicilian breakfast of granite with brioche. Wrap up your day at Le Grand Bleu, the private beach club of UNA Hotel. Finally, follow Daphne and Harper on a day trip to the baroque town of Noto and sail around the tiny nature reserve of Isola Bella, best explored by motor yacht to avoid the summer crowds.

If you like Wuthering Heights, you’ll love Scotland

Though set in the moors of northern England, Scotland delivers the same windswept Gothic romance—cliffs, mist, and wild, romantic landscapes. Anchor near the Isle of Skye or cruise the Hebrides for cinematic solitude and rugged beauty. It’s a charter completely unlike the Med; moodier and deeply atmospheric.

If you like The Odyssey, you’ll love the Peloponnese Islands, Greece

The Greek islands are perfect for sailors. Cruise past Nafplio, the Venetian-inspired harbour town that evokes the grandeur of Odysseus’ homeland; Monemvasia, a medieval fortress island clinging dramatically to cliffs; and Pylos, where pretty bays and olive-strewn hills recall scenes from Homer’s epic. Swim in impossibly clear waters, tender ashore into sleepy fishing villages, and step into landscapes that have inspired storytellers for millennia.

If you like The People We Meet On Vacation, you’ll love the Adriatic Coast

Follow in the footsteps of Poppy and Alex as they wander through Split’s sunlit streets and enjoy a sweet little seaside café moment. Head to Hvar, where lavender-scented alleys and hidden beaches echo the story’s dreamy summer evenings before dropping anchor at Korčula, whose cobbled lanes and sun-dappled squares capture the golden-hour magic of the couple’s stolen moments.

If you like Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning, you’ll love Norway

The most breathtaking scenes of Ethan Hunt’s final mission took place in Norway. Snowy Svalbard acted as their base, but Geirangerfjord and the Lofoten Islands should top your Nordic itinerary for their sheer natural beauty.

If you like Jay Kelly, you’ll love the Tuscan coastline

The Tuscan hinterland has been the set of many a Hollywood blockbuster: 2026’s Jay Kelly, Emily’s brief Italian sojourn from Emily in Paris, La Dolce Vita (1960), and Gladiator (2000), to name but a few. But the Tuscan archipelago is just as charming. Glide past sun-dappled islands like Elba, where rolling hills meet sparkling coves. Stop at Capraia for hidden beaches and cliffs reminiscent of the film’s serene countryside, then anchor in Giglio for a swim in crystal waters framed by pastel villages.

If you like Skyfall, you’ll love the Turkish Mediterranean

It seems Daniel Craig’s James Bond has an affinity for sailing yachts. The 2012 Skyfall saw him and his leading lady, Sévérine—played by Bérénice Marlowe—cruise the Turkish coast by Göcek and Fethiye. Anchor in Gocek harbour, where the film opens its Mediterranean scenes, to explore the Gocek Islands, a tiny cluster of 12 largely uninhabited islands full of easy anchorages and rich in marine life; a few have remnants of ancient ruins and small chapels tucked away. Then, drift past the dramatic cliffs of Ölüdeniz’s Blue Lagoon, famous for its calm, crystal clear sea, and the long stretch of Belcekız beach.

North America

If you like Nobody Wants This, you’ll love Los Angeles, USA

Match the gritty-pretty LA vibes of hit Netflix series Nobody Wants This with a cruise along the Pacific coast just off Marina del Rey. Watch the city’s skyline at night at sunset, then glide along Santa Monica Bay or past the cliffs of Malibu before an excursion to Catalina Island and the beach clubs of Venice Beach.

If you like No Time To Die, you’ll love Jamaica

Bond retreats to Jamaica at the start of No Time To Die, attempting to vanish into island life after leaving MI6 until the outside world finds him again. Anchor in secluded bays along Port Antonio for a private swim, snorkel over the coral reefs of the Blue Lagoon, then tender ashore for jerk barbecue and fresh local seafood in town. It’s all turquoise water and palm-fringed calm, exactly the kind of place you’d choose if you wanted to disappear, even briefly.

If you like Succession, you’ll love chartering SOLANDGE

The 85-metre Lürssen SOLANDGE was the superyacht from which the Roy family ruled their world, particularly in the final episode of season two. Filming took place all over the vessel: the spacious aft deck, the outdoor cinema and nightclub, and both indoor and outdoor gym spaces. But beyond the drama, SOLANDGE is pure real-world escapism, with a full dive centre, an extensive spa, and a sundeck swimming pool made for long, languid days at anchor—preferably with rather less corporate warfare.

Asia

If you like Last Resort, you’ll love the Philippines

During the filming of the 2026 romantic comedy Last Resort, stars Daisy Ridley, Sam Neill, and Jo Koy all shared their love of the lush island nation. Make like Brooke and swap the boardroom for Palawan and Cebu, both framed by towering limestone cliffs sheltering crystalline turquoise waters. Filipino cuisine is among the most underrated in the world, so head shore for garlicky, grilled seafood, tangy kinilaw, and the famously crispy lechon cebu.

If you like Crazy Rich Asians, you’ll love Singapore and Malaysia

Step into Rachel Chu’s world and take to Singapore’s Marina Bay and the nearby Malaysian Riau archipelago. Vibrant hawker markets, Michelin-starred dining, and colourful Peranakan architecture make Singapore and Malaysia a must-visit destination in Southeast Asia. Now is also the time to head to Penang, the setting of Michelle Yeow’s upcoming film Sandiwara before the crowds descend on this bustling, colourful locale.

Oceania

If you (or your kids) like Moana, you’ll love Samoa and French Polynesia

Though Moana’s world blends Pacific Island cultures, the paradisiacal waters of Samoa and French Polynesia bring her story vividly to life. Swim in the hidden coves of Lalomanu Beach, snorkel amid vibrant coral gardens in Apo Island, and explore palm-fringed beaches at Matavai Bay in Tahiti—you might even spot the heart of Te Fiti tucked among the greenery. From deck, watch the sun set over Mount Otemanu in Bora Bora or glide through the Tuamotu atolls, the perfect backdrop for adventure, family fun, or simply losing yourself in the rhythm of the islands.

If you like Anyone But You, you’ll love Sydney, Australia

When Bea and Ben touchdown in Sydney to attend an Aussie wedding, sparks fly amid the city’s most iconic sights. Glide into Sydney Harbour, where some of their most playful on-the-water moments unfold, then drop into The Precinct by Toby’s Estate—the café where the couple first cross paths. The clifftop wedding scene was filmed at Marks Park above Tamarama Beach, while the villa’s sunlit shoreline sits up by Barrenjoey Head at North Palm Beach, not far from where another cult Australian classic, Home & Away, has long been filmed. Head back into the city to browse the Queen Victoria Building, a grand 19th-century marketplace turned boutique-lined arcade, before ending the day in a most iconic Sydney style: cocktail in hand on deck, the Opera House to one side, the Harbour Bridge to the other—extra points if Troye Sivan is playing softly in the background.
