New CA: Ad Astra 60, an 18-metre lobster boat by Piloda Yachting

Conceived as the ultimate superyacht companion

Moravia Yachting is pleased to introduce the Ad Astra 60 to its central agency sales fleet, now available for sale with Alessandro Diomedi. Developed by Italy-based Piloda Yachting in collaboration with designer Francesco Guida, this 18-metre motor yacht draws on the lobster boat tradition and would be well-suited as a day boat or tender to a larger vessel.

Inspired by the clean lines of New England working boats, the Ad Astra 60 refines rather than reimagines its source material. Particular attention was given to the bow, spray rail, and stern exits, optimising hull behaviour and overall performance while preserving the understated aesthetic that defines the type. She delivers a maximum speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 25.

“This is one of the best modern interpretations of the classic lobster boats available on the market,” says Alessandro. “While being faithful to the timeless, functional lines of the New England style, Ad Astra has added a Mediterranean touch of open sundeck and lounging spaces. It’s perfect for the growing superyacht support vessel market.”

Alessandro also pointed to the industrial background of the builder: “Piloda Yachting is a division of Piloda Group, a strong industrial group active in shipbuilding, military, and civil construction. This reflects a practical but structured approach to yacht building.” This experience in commercial and military construction, where performance and reliability are non-negotiable, informs the engineering of every Ad Astra hull.

Two interior configurations are available: three cabins and two bathrooms with a galley in the upper saloon and an external bar unit, or two cabins with a lower-deck galley. On the main deck, the cockpit and saloon are connected by a sliding door with an electrically operated opening roof; with both open, the combined space comfortably accommodates eight to twelve guests.

Production is intentionally limited to between five and ten hulls per year, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship, owner support, and customisation possibilities.

The Ad Astra 60 will be on display at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
