48 hours in Italy

By Moravia Yachting

Last month, a group of Moravia brokers joined the Hill Robinson Italy office for a two-day meet-and-greet with the Italian yacht-building industry.

With the aim of building closer relationships with local shipyards, the Hill Robinson and Moravia Open Day saw the Hill Robinson Italy team and a group of Moravia brokers descend on Italy’s Liguria region for two days of informal networking and information sharing. With visits to the most prolific shipyards in the region, they were given the unique opportunity to preview yachts under construction and nearing completion.

Sales Broker Niel Gow was one of the Moravia team in attendance and found the event extremely valuable. “It’s always an excellent occasion to visit our colleagues in La Spezia, hear about their current and future projects and see where the Moravia team can contribute their own expertise” he comments.

“The Hill Robinson Italy office is located in the midst of several prominent yacht builders, allowing us to organise on-site shipyard visits and get real-time updates on production and availability for our clients.”

During the event, the team got the chance to visit the shipyards of The Italian Sea Group. Charter Broker Lea Tintaud, who was also in attendance, was impressed with the facility. “Not just a shipyard, The Italian Sea Group transforms yacht building into a lavish lifestyle with an impressive complex offering everything an owner, captain and crew would need to feel inspired and well looked after,” she explains.

While at The Italian Sea Group, the team had the privilege of viewing a 43-metre catamaran project not yet released to market. “It gave us the opportunity to send exclusive information, images and renderings first hand to our clients” adds Lea.

This was followed by a visit to Sanlorenzo shipyard, where the team were introduced to the brand’s longstanding history and vision for the future. The visit included a tour of the latest 52 Steel unit under construction, sistership to Lady Lena and Seven Sins.

Culminating with an informal but competitive tennis tournament, the event was a resounding success and equipped the team with in-depth insight and knowledge ready to share with clients. The plan now is for The Hill Robinson and Moravia Open Day to be an annual event going forward.
