Mediterranean yacht charter trends for 2024
Moravia Yachting’s charter brokers reveal the top charter trends noted this summer and showcase some of the best yachts on the market.
The Mediterranean has long been the world’s most popular yacht charter destination thanks to its pleasant climate, varied cruising grounds, picturesque scenery, rich history and delicious cuisine. Ahead of a busy summer of bookings, Moravia Yachting’s charter brokers identify the top charter trends for this year.
1. Eastern Mediterranean destinations are increasing in popularity:
Croatia and Greece are drawing more attention from charterers thanks to an increasing selection of charter yachts available in the region, as well as lower VAT rates than elsewhere in the Mediterranean.
2. Demand for large capacity yacht charters:
Clients are looking to book yachts that can accommodate more than the typical limit of 12 charter guests. For example, the 106m motor yacht DREAM, a converted cruise ship that can carry 36 guests.
3. Luxury catamarans are a growing segment:
Charterers are recognising the numerous benefits that catamarans offer, including plentiful interior and exterior spaces and a shallow draft. Options on the charter market include MANTA, a 23.8m Sunreef catamaran, and the 43.5m THIS IS IT, a futuristic catamaran built by Tecnomar.
4. Yachts for key events are being booked up well in advance:
Prestigious events, such as the Monaco Grand Prix, MIPIM and Cannes Film Festival, are best enjoyed from a yacht. But there are limited berths available and charterers looking to experience the most popular events by charter yacht are having to book up to a year in advance.
Moravia Yachting’s experienced charter brokers specialise in creating bespoke charter itineraries aboard the finest Mediterranean yachts on the market. Some of the most sought-after yachts include:
